Lately,  we have had many e-mails from people considering retiring in Florida . They want to and take advantage of their terrible Real Estate Market .  Bad idea, Florida is one of the highest taxed states (read more) .

now with the economics of today you have to take back the control of your financial affairs, think outside the box. This is NOT a time to be old fashioned, this could be financial suicide. You better live in a card board box and live far from the beach, they are going to hit you with huge taxes, fines and fees.  My goal is not to Bash FLA, just educate retirees and possible residents from a situation others are IN and can’t get out.  Read below

The same property value of $450,000 dollars will cost you 8-10 k in taxes verses Belize $400 dollars U.S.  We can find better places to spend our $ .  Most Floridians, are relocating  across the border and buying homes to save on property taxes and state sales taxes.  Florida continually increases their property taxes, year after year.  (the tax is pointed at YOU the retiree or NEW resident) . This is a monster of a problem, the info above is dated 2006 . When elections come they will all be talking of a new flat tax to replace the old tax (Bull S.) , WHEN .

I feel bad for the Floridians, don’t be tricked into thinking your getting a deal.  Do your homework Florida does have ” state of the art transportation”, the best roads, and  “Burger King ” , ect … .

Belize sells itself

Belize doesn’t  have a capitol gains or inheritance taxes, and immigration is simple and easy .  Its a buyers market,  give Belize some thought .  Some people are not made for living here in Belize, but most,  find it very comfortable . Derek Bass Player was just excepted to Berkley school of music in Boston . He is amazing and we are trying to raise some$, and find him some digs for the summer camp . This is an amazing opportunity, he is a good kid and works his butt off,  and gets good grades.  Congratulations Derek, pass the word,  sounds like we have a fundraiser coming .

Mrs. Martha says you can save over $ 184,000 in U.S  taxes a yr if you are a bonafied resident of another country.  Please check with your Tax attorney…. .

Chris and Denise save considerably in heat bills living here half the year. We will miss them, they will be heading back soon . They had to go out west one more time West .

Window shopping has been interesting at Wings . The people of San Pedro get a daily Fashion show  . I think as quick as they put those cute outfits in the window they are sold that day  . These outfits maybe sitting a while , but ; it has been fun . The islanders know what I mean , sometimes it is nice to see change .
